About The Neponset Valley Sunrise Rotary Club

mckee_160611_793.jpg

We are a great group of individuals from the ten towns that comprise the Neponset River Valley area, who meet every Wednesday morning to improve the lives of people in our community and around the world.

Our efforts primarily consist of running our Annual Duck Race, The Taste of Dedham and Beyond and other local events, to raise funds that we distribute to local charities, such as local food banks.

We also give scholarships to local students at The Blue Hills Regional Technical School, sponsor students to study abroad and support Rotary International’s student leadership efforts through RYLA.

Our Speaker Program brings in local and regional professionals, non-profit leaders and others, to speak at our club’s morning meetings.

If you are interested in becoming a member, curious about our upcoming speakers or just want to join us for a meeting or two, reach out and let us know!

Our Meetings

Our Rotary Club meets approximately once a week at 7:30am on Wednesdays.

Currently, we do breakfast at The Fourpoints Sheraton in Norwood, MA.

Yes, that is early for some of us. For others, they may consider it the middle of their day!

However, our meetings include breakfast, bacon, and coffee… lots of coffee!

The energy from getting together and sharing ideas, concepts and news (and, perhaps the caffine) would be enough get us energized and sustain us throughout the rest of the day.

There is great camaraderie and lots of joking around as we learn from speakers, make decisions and put actions into place that help the people in our community.

Come and visit us and see if you have what it takes to make an impact in our community!

Our Club History

Our Club was chartered in Dedham on August 13th, 2001. A challenging start to the new Rotarians.

The founding members included Michael Baldino, John Bethoney, Lloyd Gainsboro, Catherine M. Luna, Mike Podolski, Thomas R. Polito, Jr., Michael J. Thornton, Jr., and many more.

They decided to branch off from several other local clubs so that they could hold breakfast meetings rather than meeting at lunch or in the evenings.

The goal of the club was simple: get together, have fun and raise funds to help non-profits in our local communities.

If you are interested in hanging out with a fun group of people, getting involved in the community and doing good works, reach out to us and come by one of our meetings!
